BEWARE OF SCAMS

Avoid scammers offering to pay your rent.  If you’re facing eviction for any reason, there are organizations out there who can help you. But there are also fake “organizations” and “charities” who can hurt you.

What are lawyers really? To me a lawyer is basically the person that knows the rules of the country. We're all throwing the dice, playing the game, moving our pieces around the board, but if there's a problem, the lawyer is the only person that has actually read the inside of the top of the box.

A. Joseph Ross

The Law Office of A. Joseph Ross, J.D. is a civil practice concentrating in the areas of residential  landlord-tenant matters.  We can often make referrals to competent specialists in many other areas that we don't handle ourselves. We are also happy to consult or work with other attorneys in matters within our areas of expertise.

Sometimes we can help you with a brief telephone conversation at no charge. If not, an extended consultation, by telephone or by Zoom, is generally $135.00 for an hour.  An in-office conference is $175.00 an hour and may require COVID-19 precautions.  For most other matters we charge an hourly rate with a retainer. We regret that we can no longer charge a contingent fee for most matters and are currently taking on very few new litigation matters.

WE CANNOT ANSWER LEGAL QUESTIONS OR GIVE LEGAL ADVICE BY E-MAIL. Sending e-mail to this office does not, of itself, create an attorney-client relationship. DO NOT SEND CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION BY E-MAIL. It may not be secure against being intercepted by outsiders.
